The highlight of this trip is visiting Adele Island sanctuary, home to an array of protected native birds and a popular hang out for NZ fur seals.

This trip is 100% paddle power which also helps reduce your carbon footprint. The forest-fringed Astrolabe is a stunning place to explore and it also offers the highest concentration of golden sandy beaches in the Abel Tasman. Simply an amazing day covering all the special elements the Abel Tasman offers. If conditions permit, kayak-sail back into Marahau on the afternoon sea breeze.
Paddling is our business, with all activities supported by our purpose-built kayak base, free hot showers, free wifi, free equipment storage & client transporters. We also provide high-quality soft gear – fitted for each client by our guides and high-quality hard gear – customised for comfort for each client.
On this trip covering the Astrolabe coastline you have a professional guide with you for 8 hours sharing their knowledge and passion of the Abel Tasman. We also cater morning tea and lunch designed around your health and energy.

Sounds like there is always something going on there all year round, March sounded like a great time as the pups are learning to swim and come and explore the kayaks. We hoisted a sail on the way back which was so much fun and we just laughed the whole way home. read less

We did the whole day Soul Food tour and it was one of the best things I've ever done. We had a fantastic day , superbly organised from start to finish. Our guide was excellent , felt really safe but was also an adventure and really good fun. Opportunity to see wildlife up close, time to swim, explore remote little bays.
A fantastic day.

ATK is always fun to work with the teams have a great sense of humour and make the day a positive and highly personable experience from the moment you check-in. to the moment you leave. In other words, is a classic Kiwi experience. However, that is tempered with providing timely instruction reminding you subtly that adventure activities need everyone involved to manage risk and respect those risks.
The soul food excursion is very clever you work your way around islands noiselessly so surprise surprise the wildlife doesn't disappear as it does when confronted with diesel engines and jet boats.
The coastline is fascinating and an experienced guide like Tim puts you in the right place at low tide and high tide and anywhere in between at the optimum moment.
Kayaking 15 K is tiring and it's great to stop on a Beach and enjoy a generous lunch and the classic Kiwi sandwich experience not to mention naughty brownies and chocolate truffles!
it's easy not to cover the basics but the start and finish are executed with great efficiency so you get into the trip quickly and get off home quickly which enables the really memorable part to stay in your mind.
I look forward to more well-executed fun with ATK!
Please note this excursion was carried out on 1/1/2020 TA has not updated their calendar options yet. read less

I had a great kayak day tour. Kayaking was the best choice for exercise and to go into the national park and see the wildlife. Our guide Nathan knew many details about all the birds and wildlife and history of the park!! He took great care of us. Lunch stop at the beach was amazing. I would have loved to see even more from the park and kayak further.
