What our customers say

The young lady at reception was fantastic! Our guide Mark was very friendly and explained everything clearly and simply. We really enjoyed kayaking. When we got back, the lady at reception gave us some great tips on where to go and where to get ice cream. Thank you for a fantastic day.

Awesome day of kyaking with small group & our guide Jordan. He had not been guiding at Abel Tasman Kyaks much more than 3mths, but without a doublt he knows his stuff & even ALL the local points if interest. He is professional an seasoned veteran . Very attentive to all needs & abillities. Not had to recomend thus as a must do if you want to how NZ used to be, prime untouched, golden sand water.Perfect weather *29 C made for a perfect day for all, incleding 2 teenage boys.A nice workout with plenty of rewards at many bays from Arwaroa down to Barks bay, with serveral swims & lunch along the way.10/10 Jordan - keep doing what you do, a real credit to the Team at Abel Tasman kyaks!!!

This was such an incredible experience!

My best friend and I did the Remote Overnighter - kayak the Remote Marine Reserve approx 4 hrs day 1, camped overnight in Bark Bay and hiked out day 2. They gave us the option to hike 4 hrs to Anchorage Bay then water taxi back or 8 hrs total hike back to the base. We did the full hike because why not! After we did wish that we just spent the afternoon at the beach to swim and enjoy it but that’s on us!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the catered lunch provided with the tour. It was catered by a local cafe and was absolutely incredible. Sandwiches, carrot cake and coffee etc! I am Gluten free and they catered to this thankfully! I would recommend giving them a heads up if you have dietary needs.

Our kayak guide Emily was awesome. You could tell she was very passionate and knowledgeable. Big shout out to her for making the windy kayak feel like a breeze.

I will 100% come back and do one of Abel Tasman Kayak tours with my boyfriend while living in NZ because it’s such a must do.

PS. neither campsites had filtered water as stated - make sure you pack extra if you won’t have time to boil water while hiking!

Outstanding and a must do activity if you are in Nelson / Abel Tasman area. We did the seal sanctuary tour, but the star is the clear waters and stunning scenery! Our tour incuded the tractor / boat taxi ride and a good few hours of paddling. You will probably be tired by the end of the tour but have a smile on your face.

For the last stretch on the return to shore, we set up a kayak sail and saved our arms a little. Would love to do an overnight tour in future and highly recommend Abel Tasman Kayaks organisation and our guide Darryl's knowledge and endless dad jokes :)

We chose a three day tiki tour and the whole family loved it! It includes a bit of everything: walking, kayaking, camping and glamping for a treat. And everything is thoughtfully provided! The forecast was for inclement weather, we were thrilled that Abel Tasman kayak’s knowledge and experience meant they came up with a safe option to let us paddle and explore. With two quite different overnight stays, we had a chance to get personal and close with the park, to take in the beauty, the sounds, to touch the water and the sand, and to lose some of our food to the park “owners” - the wekas. We had one day of guided kayaking with a fantastic guide teaching us useful skills and telling insightful stories. The highlights were raft sailing and silence in Shag Harbour. And a box of biscuits, my 12 year old would add! It has been a great introduction revealing how much is still left for the next visit.

Had the most amazing trip on the two day classic tour. Kyle was an awesome guide who showed us lots of hidden treasures and made sure we had a great time (and were well fed!) A stunning way to experience Abel Tasman National Park, even for a non-experienced kayaker, would highly recommend ☺️
