What our customers say

My partner and I got a day-hire kayak for 90pp. I couldn't recommend Abel Tasman Kayaks any higher. There was a thorough safety briefing before the day started and they kitted us out with all the equipment that we needed. The team was great at pointing out where it would be feasible to kayak for a day trip. Kayaking in the bays was great as well, lots of small private beaches that you can stop on, lots of wildlife (we saw a seal tearing through an octopus on the water!) and doing a loop around Adele or Fisherman's Island is very manageable. It was a bit difficult to see where we had to return to, so in the future I would clarify that before I leave. Jack was also great to us. Friendly, approachable, keen for a yarn and made the whole experience better!

Beautiful calm water, took a little while to get the hang of the double kayaks but we made it and then enjoyed the short hike and beautiful Anchorage Beach afterward!

Well organised and friendly company with good equipment and attention to safety. We really enjoyed the water taxi ride up to a beach along the Abel Tasman track for lunch , followed by a unhurried kayak over to Adele island to visit the seal colony and then a kayak back to base.

Our guide was great, super knowledgeable and brought lots of positive energy.
The views were amazing, we saw lots of wildlife and with the high tide we paddled through 3 beautiful lagoons.
The lunch was also delicious!

They have a very long safety discussion prior to going out, so we felt very safe. The water was extremely blue and overall conditions were great. When it did downpour, the anchorage bay hut/campsite had plenty of space to hide from the rain. Camping at the Onetahuti campsite was insane and directly on the beach with amazing views of sunrises on Tonga island. Day hikes are short near the camp sites, for example, the pool at onetahuti is a perfect tiny waterfall to wash the saltwater off your body and is a 5 minute walk. The last day took about 5/6 hours to hike and was a good amount of uphill, but nothing too bad. Boat ride back was fun because you get to see everywhere you kayaked/hiked!

We did the 3 Day Classic Guided Kayak Tour. What an absolutely stunning part of the world. Everything was so well organised by Abel Tasman Kayaks. Reid, our guide, is 2nd to none. Very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and environment, great company and gave us all a trip of a lifetime. Thank you so much 😊
